چکیده

The flower fly species, Eupeodes nuba (Wiedemann, 1830) (Diptera: Syrphidae) is crucial for agroecosystems as it provides various ecosystem services such pest control through the use of predatory larvae and crop pollination by adults. In this research, consumption rate different instars Aphis fabae (Scopoli, 1763) E. has been studied under laboratory conditions at 25±2 °C, 60±10% humidity (RH). Fifty aphids one larva were present in each replicate. results showed that maximum number A. consumed was 49.13 individuals third instar, followed 35.73 second instar 16.26 first predator. highest daily occurred during heavily parasitized aphid parasitoids, Binodoxys acalephae (Marshall, 1896), Lysiphlebus fabarum Aphelinus asychis (Walker, 1839) on broad bean. Parasitization rates these parasitoids increased bean plant season. recording a new host psychic. survey three indicated L. had population December, parasitoid B. January, recorded February. It seems biological can be used an alternative to chemical pesticides fabae.

short note- black bean aphid aphis fabae scopoli (homoptera –aphididae) an important pest of seed beet

black bean aphid is widely distributed in the world. it has several hosts from weeds and cultivated plants. this aphid passes the winter as egg on some permanent weeds, box tree and etc. young wingless hatches from the eggs in the spring and the winged aphids after appearance migrate to seed beet fields. after producing some generations, they fly to the various summer hosts such as bean, sugar ...

Levels of clonal mixing in the black bean aphid Aphis fabae, a facultative ant mutualist.

Aphids are a worldwide pest and an important model in ecology and evolution. Little is known, however, about the genetic structure of their colonies at a microgeographic level. For example, it remains largely unknown whether most species form monoclonal or polyclonal colonies. Here, we present the first detailed study on levels of clonal mixing in a nonsocial facultative ant mutualist, the blac...

identification of sources of resistance to the black bean aphid, aphis fabae scopoli, in faba bean, vicia faba l., accessions

in several parts of the world, important yield losses are caused to faba bean due to attack by the black bean aphid aphis fabae scopoli. although resistance could be a good alternative to chemical control, its genetic basis is still largely unknown; and its phenotypic expression is still poorly described, making crucial the permanent evaluation of genetic resources available in different countr...

Large interclone differences in melezitose secretion in the facultatively ant-tended black bean aphid Aphis fabae.

Many aphids are known to engage in a trophic mutualism with ants, whereby the aphids secrete sugary-rich honeydew which is collected by the ants for food, and the ants, in exchange, protect the aphids against natural enemies. Previous results, however, suggest that the production of some of the honeydew sugars, such as the ant-attractant trisaccharide melezitose, may induce an indirect cost to ...
